Recovered this slug from a 4 pt that one of our hunters shot. Distance about 50', M94 in 44mag about 181/2" barrel. Ammo, Winchester 240 grain, Supreme Elite Dual Bond. Longest measurement across petals with my calipers was .98", recovered weight on my powder scale was 234 grains. Bullet entered high on shoulder missing bone, through both lungs, broke rib and came to rest just under hide. Needless to say the buck went no where. Nor sure how the bullet would have reacted had it hit heavy shoulder bone but performance in this instance was excellent.

Purtty!
Of course a .458" diameter bullet wouldn't even need to expand.

Brings back memories, the first buck I shot with a rifle was with a ruger 96/44 using a remington 240gr soft boint. .

Maybe yours does, but since it won't stop in an animal, there is no way to know. Haha Cool looking expansion though.
