I have a new Nikon Monarch 2.5-10 x 42.  When hunting in Colorado this year at 9,000 feet, I saw emerald colored reflection (for lack of a better word) inside the scope when looking though the reticle.   Maybe 1/5 of the total view had this strong green tint to it.  This was not present at all times and it did not ruin the hunt.  I was not in the bright sun but it was morning (9AM) and not cloudy.

Does this mean I need a Sunshade like this one?

Thanks!

I was not looking at anything specific, I was just looking around through it. I was on a hill and faced several directions.
The green seemed to be temporary due to the conditions and I was not able to reproduce it - that is why I think it is sun-related.
Thank you for your reply above.
