I have recently acquired a Burris eliminator laser scope 4-12. I also got the Burris 2 piece mounts for the lower mounting of the scope. I mounted the bases and the scope in NO time at all was very very simple. It was almost too simple. No squaring the retical it all fell into place with the way the rail system is on the scope matched up with the Burris bases. I used the plumb bob to double check and it was dead on. I then placed the Edited by Bigdaddy0381 - October/07/2011 at 07:59 |

Looks nice. Anxious to hear your thoughts, I can trust your opinion on it more than others because I know you won't hold back on it

I took the new toy out to the range Saturday for a little play time. I shot 10 thru the crony to get my FPS. The 10 shot average was 2725 not a smoking load but pretty accurate with the 168gr Berger’s. I zeroed at 100 yards and plugged the numbers into the scope using there charts. There was not an exact FPS match but within 4 FPS. The program was set on "Y" for yards and it has an "M" meters. I set the zero at 1 for 100 yards the options are 0=50, 1=100, and 2=200. Now the FPS was set on 59. There are 100's of options on this depending on your load. I shot me zero at 100 to make sure nothing move with the program being set. It was still dead on. For fun I hit the range button on the longest shot of the day 488yards. The dot moved down, I held a few inches to the left (for wind) and let her rip. DING. Hit the steel. Was a few inches right (2) but up and down was where I was holding, this confirmed the ballistics is pretty dead on. I then took shots at 398, 302, 200, and 100. All were hits within an inch left and right up and down was dead of POA. This is a pretty nice scope and really super easy to use. The glass is not bad at all. I was able to see the links in the chain at 488 yards fairly clear. The bottom of the retical seem a little wide where the dots moves up and down but after 2 shots it was not noticeable. Yes this is a BIG scope but the weight is NOT an issue. I like it. It works as advertised on the bullet drop. Basically all you do it rang it, move dot to target, adjust for wind, and let her rip. Hear the ding. The only thing I didn't like about this scope is the remote. it seemed to not work where I wanted it placed on the rifle. It’s not the remote fault but mine so I took it off and used the range button on the scope. it was still a simple deal. I still have a lot of playing to do with the scope so more will follow.

It really is a cool scope. The 100 zero can be shot with the dot on or not. The retical can be used like a normal scope if need be. you can guess the drop if you don't have time to range it.
