Hi could anyone tell me if these scopes feature fully multicoated optics? I am thinking of getting one for my .22 rimfire how do they compare to the vari x series? would they be the same lenses as a vari x 1 or varix 2? |

Leupold puts their Magnesium fluoride lens coating on the M8 4X. Which is just a single coating of Magnesium. The only scopes that are offered with the Multicoat 4 coatings are the M8-12X40, and the M8-6X42. Leupold has done away with the term "Vari" and are now calling their scopes "VX-I, VX-II, VX-III". In effect improving the lenses on each classification of scopes. To answer your last question they would offer the same glass/lenses, but the coatings are different from the VX-I and the VX-II.
