have a 1980 vintage Shilen DGA in .308.  It is a heavier target weight gun and that is all I will be using it for.  It was so new looking that I did a barrel break-in.  My first two trips to the range have produced several groups smaller than .25"  I even had two smaller than .1".  It's a real shooter.  I have searched and read many posts on this forum.  Now, I just want to throw it out there for your opinion.  I will be target shooting out to at least 500 meters.  What scope do you recommend?  And I can't afford to spend $1000 on a scope.

How much CAN you afford?

Or, if your like me, how much will the little wife allow you to spend??

Seriously, give the forum a $ amount and that would be most helpful.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

I would go with a 6.5-20 Leupold or a 6-24 Elite 4200 shame they stopped making those guns, they were great guns. Good luck with it!!!
