Had a nice long chat with Mike at Cooper today, real nice guy, very patient, excellent customer service

I wanted a relatively lightweight (7 max) wood stocked 25-06

There's are all listed at 7.5 or so

he told me they built a one off for a guy where they worked on lightening the stock up in a few areas, lighter bolt than standard, a few other little items, lighter barrel profile than standard, etc..

So I ordered a classic with a few twists
a little bit nicer wood than the standard classic
I love pretty wood but I don't need it and it's hard to justify the extra expense for pure aesthetics
24" barrel, roll over cheek piece

will run Talley lightweight alloy one piece mounts, optic to be determined
good chance it will be my tried and true accupoint 3-9x40 mildot / green dot
I try a lot more expensive stuff but even in extremely low light testing, the Accupoint really gives up nothing and is nice and light and just works

hope to have November time frame just in time for the rut :)

Pretty pumped up about it

You should love it. You are getting a fast turnaround. I had to wait over a year for one. Probably because it was a southpaw.

Sounds great. Mine was about a 9 month wait, but it sure can shoot! Great choice. Excellent

Just posting to say I am jealous.

I fondled a few Coopers at Shedhorn in Ennis, MT when I lived up that way... I am seriously in love with their target 22, would make a sweet sillywet gun.

I know what you mean.  The Cooper factory is just a few short minutes from my front door.  It is a miracle I ever take home a paycheck.

Going to be an interesting time the next few months for me and hunting rifles
I bought a Sako AV stainless 25-06 a month ago.
I also just received a Nosler Trolhy Grade 280AI for T&E

Going to be a challenge finding time to do all the testing and dialing in.
