Forget the spray. My huning rifle, 45/70 guide gun with magnum rounds, and a 454 casull. If he survives that, he can eat me. |

It is alright. Your not hijacking anything. I love talking about bears. I've been lucky enough to see many grizzlies in my time in the woods. Years ago, I spent several summers clearing trails and fighting fire outside the park by West Yellowstone. I have had many contacts with bears and they were usually the "turn tail and run type." Sometimes they just walked away. Some times they followed me for a ways before leaving. I had a biologist tell me the bear that followed me was sizing me up as a meal. I don't know, but it makes for a good story. I was actually in on a couple of "problem bear" traps, and they actually "relocated" one to the Libby area. As you probably know, they usually give them only one shot at relocation, and if the bears head back to society, they euthanize them. As far as packing in ... I do it both ways. Typically I backpack my alpine mulie hunts and pack-in on horseback for my elk hunts. However, the area where these bears were would be impossible to get stock into, without a couple years of trail construction. It is remote. |

What it means to me Sam, is the state of AZ has become infatuated with drawing out of state tags to the point where it is damn near impossible to draw an elk tag anymore...

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
