Are you saying that you took the scope apart or just removed it from the rifle? What brand of scope is it? If I am reading your post correctly, the scope has a 300 yd fixed focus. This may not be very pratical for a 22lr. Welcome to the OT work with us and we can help get you up and running. There are some smart fellows here. |

it is a barska varmint scope. when i first go it i sighted it in for hitting shotgun shell at 50 yds it work great till yesterday for some reason when i tried to sight it in for 75 to 100 yds it was putting them 6 inches below even when i went to 25 yds.i just took it off the rifle i tore the gun apart for cleaning then i went back out an tried to see if loosing some of the screws would help an it didn't. its not fixed focus you can go from 20 to 300. a friend of mine has the same kind of scope on his 22 an his works great.

It seems that you have a dud scope. Put your friends scope on your rifle and give it a try.....

My guess is also that the scope is bad.

I too agree your scope is bad. Why not return it and get one of the vortex corssfires on sale for $99.00 they aren't that great but they are very servicable and most have had decent luck with them. Plus if you have a problem Vortex's warranty is second to none in the industry.

Obviously you have a nice rifle set up so its time for some better glass. Therer are a couple of routes you can go but to shoot at different distances you need either tactical / target knobs or a balistic reticle that works for your cartridge.
