Do any of you have any info on Subsonic reloading data for the 30 BR?

I am thinking of building a .30BR on a Remington 700 action with a 18” to 20” barrel with a 1-10 twist for the purpose of shooting 168gr to 200gr bullets between 1000 and 2000 fps, mostly 1050fps.

The reason I am going with the 30BR is I have most of the tools and dies for building this caliber.

If you know of any data that may help me I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

What a great hobby!

6 br and 7 br usually use an intermediate burning powder. 335, 748, 4198 etc. and get about 2500 fps, with a target bullet built in the optimal ogive and BC for that cal. While 1050 is just above subsonic, I would start with 4759 or 4198 at about 1/2 case volume. The big question here- is do you have a chronograph? Obviously expansion and bullet dynamics are not a big consideration here.

Yes I have a chronograph and I have a lot of data for supersonic loads 1900 FPS and up but I am not use to, At or below subsonic loading.

I have read that most 30BRs have a strange twist rates for small bullets but I want to shoot 168gr or bigger bullets with a 1-10 twist 18" barrel.

I will look at the burn rates for 4759 and 4198.

Thank you Dale for the info.

any one who can help I would appreciate it.
