This shot was taken June 29th in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park, during an approaching storm. The picture below that gives you an idea of just how much snow is still hanging around up there.

WOW!

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I'm not denying it's pretty nice to be hiking around in 60 degree weather, but we dream of places like Florida in January! There's a shortage of dolphins in Montana waters.

The scenery at Glacier National Park is much like that of the Swiss Alps... minus the grizzlies.  Big Smile

Snow in July while beautiful, it is not for me.

Take solace in the fact that our last two January's have sucked...cold and windy. We had several frosts / freezes last winter. That said, if you ever feel the urge...hop a bird and head down. We'd be glad for the company. Big Grin

Why don't you take the cheap route and just give Lori a bunch of grief!  That should be enough adrenalin for anybody! Wink

Dan, serious here; you should have gone into law enforcement after your military career. Granted, you probably wouldn't have the beautiful wife, or nice income that you have now, but you would get your adrenaline fix.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

It has been a nasty winter here as well.  It dropped down to almost 50 degrees here a couple of times and there were even a few days of rain.  Now in the summer, it is scorching 75-80 degrees with mild sea breeze Whistling.
