Hi,
I just got my new SS 10x42. Holy cow is this thing nice!! I do have a concern that I hope someone can help me with. When removing the factory sun shade so I could try the new 2.25" sun shade, I noticed that the fine threaded section inside the bell housing started to rotate out with the sunshade along with some blue/green grease or paste... or maybe a Loctite type material . It didn't rotate out all that far... maybe 3/16"... but several full revolutions by the time the shade was removed. With the shade removed, I rotated it back in several revolutions with only a little resistance (probably from the grease), but didn't want to go to far for fear of damaging the optics. Is this normal? Should the interior threaded section free float? Not sure how far to thread that peice back in, and don't want to hurt my new baby!!
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
