What will this be sitting on?

At what velocity and weight of bullet will you be using caliber/BC?

At what distance will you be shooting / At what incline/decline will you be shooting it?

What base will you be using?  Will you need MOA base?

What Rings do you like?

Will you need to use covers?

Do you know the height of your base or rings from barrel?

A NXS with a 56mm objective has a diameter of 65mm. If you have a benchrest it is 67mm.

Without knowing what type of rifle and base you have it is hard to know what will work for you. On my Rem SS 5R I have med Warne rings and on my AR's I am using Armalite one piece rings or high Warne rings. But all except one of my NF scopes are 50mm objectives which is a 59mm diameter.

"Putting a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 on my savage 10fp and wondering what would be a good mount it will have to be high due to 56MM bell"

Is this the old or new receiver round in the back or flat in the back???

Already I would suggest a base... The MOA base will adjust your height and MEDIUMS should be fine with most manufacturers depending on your existing base though.

The rifle and twist is capable of 1000yrd shots with precession I have just bought my second savage this month in .308 and they are both 1/4MOA guns easily...

    5.5-22 x 56 NXS
The ultimate long range scope. Its 56mm objective lens provides maximum clarity and resolution across the entire magnification range. The most advanced field tactical scopes ever produced, the wide magnification factor of our 5.5-22 series allows precision accuracy at the longest ranges, yet at 5.5 power remains highly effective for shots at close ranges. Nightforce was the first company committed to perfecting extreme magnification variable power scopes. Our years of experience perfecting long-range optics is evident in every scope we build.

Depending on which Zeiss you have it is either 56 or 58mm for the objective diameter. Also is your Zeiss a 1 inch tube or a 30mm tube?
