I read an article years ago about a 338 fed lever action. I can not for the life of me remember who made that rifle. Does anyone have an idea who makes these lever guns.

The 338 Fed has pointy bullets. Not the best in a tubular Mag. Are you sure it was not the 338 Marlin.

Nope, I was talking about 338 fed. Some Lever guns have rotary mags so you can use pointy bullets. This is not the brand but Savage model 99 were made that way. I actually owned one in 308 win.

There were quite a few guys rebarrelling their BLR .308s for .338 Federal a few years ago. I've even heard of Savage 99s being rebarreled for it. Don't know of any factory levers in .338 though.

I think it was a browning blr thanks. I think I would like to get one or have one done. I think it would be a good pack rifle.

I think you are right. It would be a good pack rifle. Browning doesn't currently list the .338 Federal as a chambering, however.

Yep but I prefer the 338 Fed. A little flatter.
