That would be amazing to see in person.....I wonder how many idiots get hurt there every year....... I wonder if I could volunteer for some sort of wildlife management program, I think they could definitely thin the heard a little bit...starting with that six point at the beginningBig Smile

We have a place just outside of Old Forge in the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York which is larger than all the national parks combined and the deer act like that. It's a real hoot for a deer hunter to witness that!

We go up to Rocky Mountain park, see more elk in Estes (which I believe is where this vid is shot) then in the park, but I have never seen this many elk in town.

My wife and I were in a  small town when Elk were in the rut like that....One minute there were a handul of Cows, then came a bigger herd with the biggest Bull. He wore himself out chasoing the smaller bulls off. It was really amazing watching the tourists, mostly the  Chinamen who showed no fear of the Elk , let alone respect and one young lady had to run hard in order to not get run over as we watched in awe. I do not understand how they could possibly think the Elk were tame, very odd to me. They acted as if they were in a petting zoo or some damn thing...Elk like that can be seen along the Northern Oregon and Southern Washington coast sometimes if you hit it at the right time of year when they are in the rut...

Took the wife on a drive out toward the lake this morning. No Elk but had to stop in the road as a gobbler had his way with a hen right in the middle of the blacktop road. Drove on a way and saw a couple of turkey hunters coming out of the woods empty handed. Go figure.

We are heading to Seaside Oregon this week, hope to see some Elk when we are in the area. There is a place just 5 miles East of town where you can see lots of Elk this time of year (Spring) Ive seen as many as 12  Bulls just laying in peoples Cow pastures. No one bothers them there it seems, there just so cool to just watch...

I killed a Rocky Mountain bull a few years ago that would have went about 900-1000 pounds on the hoof.  It was a hog, and took a bunch of effort to break down.  They say Roosevelt bulls will go over 1200 pounds!  Holy crap!
