Thanks for the replies and welcome! I have had or have Nikons and
Leopolds, but never a Zeiss besides a spotting scope my uncle
has. I know both Leupold and Nikon are great glass and I hear
Zeiss is even a step above them, but not sure about the conquest
line. I do like the Nikon Tactical, but a part of me feels a 4-16
might not be enough. I have shot deer with my leopold 4.5-14 at
400 but not sure about trying a 600-700 yard shot at a coon with
anything less than a 20 power. WHat do you guys think?

For the distances you are looking at, I'd get the most magnification which would be the Zeiss or the Leupold. Both have the same magnification, both the same size objective it would come down to personal taste in optics. Personally, I'd go Zeiss better optics in my opinion and it costs less.

I have been researching a scope for my 700 vs .308 I plan to shoot 100
to possibly 1000yrds, but maily between 4-600yrds at targets and
ocasional varmits.
I have narrowed my search down to these scopes in no particular order. NIkon 4-16x50 Tactical Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50 Leopold 6.5-20x50 Mark 4 LR/T XOTIC 4-16x56mm Any other suggestions or comments welcome Thanks Tanner |
