Hey guy,
I just got a new AR-10 and I'm looking to do a scope red dot combo. I was thinking about getting the SWFA Super Sniper 10x or Millet TRS-1 with a Burris P.E.P.R mount and then putting a Burris Fastfire2 on that. The only thing I am worried about is that the red dot will not clear the turret on a tactical scope. Anybody have any experience with this? If it won't work any ideas? Thanks |

you will want to get some kind of side mount for the red dot. The turrets on the 10x are pretty tall.
Better yet, just get the SS 3-9x and it will give you a lower mag so you don't necessarily need a red dot. |

Thanks supertool, I'm actually thinking ss in 10x or 6x i would rather have a fixed power scope. Thats why I want the red dot sight. Does anybody know of good side mount all I can find are the ncstar 45degree that attach to the scope. that would work but is there anything else? |

10x in Badger Ordnance Ultra High
6x Super Sniper in La Rue mount (3-9 is even better)
If you still feel the need for a red dot you can mount them 45degrees to the right rather than laying them in line with the tactical knobs. Midwest Industries and a couple other manufacturers make an adapter for picatinny rail. The following is a 90 degree adapter what you want is a 45 degree adapter but you will get the idea.

The other fix is to go with an illuminated primary scope like a Trijicon Accupoint

Thanks guys,
I was trying to keep this under $600 and get a versitle set up going, for long range and fast acquisition short range, but I'm not sure thats going to happen. I will look harder at the ss 3-9x. Or Ill just save up and get an 4x ACOG which I am very comfortable with.
My question is... with the 3-9x do you have to have it on 9x to accuratly use the mil dots?

+1 on the SS1-4
It is a red dot (almost) and a long range scope. |
