Another thread reminded me how much I love my Eberlestock Just One backpack for Western hunting.  I thought I would start a thread to see what is in use by members of the OT.

This is my pack:

http://www.eberlestock.com/Just One.htm

It is a great design.  It compresses small enough to be good daypack, and expands large enough to carry my backpacking camp, hunting gear, and an entire boned out mule deer in one load.  The single best feature is the backscabbard for your rifle ... hands free hiking, but still at the ready.

What do you use?

Very nice, Matt.  I usually use a small back back or fanny pack.

I have a eberlestock Gun Slinger 2.  They make a real nice pack.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

I just use a small field and stream backpack. A buddy of mine has a Badlands backpack that is really nice, but it also came with a pretty nice pricetag.

A green and black North Face backpack that doubled as book bag for school, now dedicated hunting / gear pack.  I just got my Dad a Maxpedition Condor II, it's tough as nails feeling and I'm very happy with the purchase, even if it did take like 3 months for it to come in.   Checked out the Eberlestock packs in the process, if I lived more Westerly I think that'd be a great way to go.

Depends on the hunting I'm doing.  When I'm hunting deer or elk I have a pack frame that I strap a fanny pack onto.  When I'm antler hunting I have military pack that has about 100 tie downs and that works well for strapping antlers on.

I mostly deer hunt so just a cheap camo pack fills my needs, I have one that I use for just morning hunts, and the one I use the most is a cheap camo budwieser backpack that my wife won at a lucky buck contest a couple years ago and has more room for junk, to help get me through a full day of hunting.

I can't help myself, I tried, but I HAVE to do it...

I usually use a .458 Lott.  It will halt a backpack in its tracks...

When hunting from a stand or blind, I use Cabelas Whitetail day pack. If I'm doing alot of walking, which I usually do or if I'm on a paid hunt, I use the Nimrod pack system. Both are great packs in my opinion. The Nimrod is a modular system and can be tailored to the hunt.

Picked up a Beretta for my son to give as a Christmas gift and it's actually a pretty nice one.  Can't seem to find the model anywhere.

I use a Mystery Ranch Crewcab for my general hunting pack.

If I need a frame, I use a Rocky Mountain Rhino take down frame.  Collapses down to the size of a loaf of bread, and only weighs 3 pounds.  Great for trips where space is limited, but you want a frame pack.

As an update to this thread. I have added the Kuiu Icon 6000 to my pack collection. I like the Kuiu much better for serious backpacking due to the superior suspension compared to the Eberle. I still like the Just One for day/horseback hunting though.

Wapiti1, the Crew Cab is another of the fine top-shelf hunting packs.

I use a crew cab as well. 1997 Chevy 2500. A might heavy at 6500 LBS, but it'll carry anything! Other than that, if it doesn't fit in my coat pockets, it stays in the truck.
