I'll also throw my endorsement behind these loading blocks. I ordered 6 of them this past X-mas - 3 for .223/5.56 and 3 for 9 mm. He was running a special for the holidays - the bigger your order the cheaper the per unit cost was, and free shipping if you bought enough. A splurge buy to be sure, but I needed more blocks to be able to load bigger batches anyway.
Yes, they are a little on the expensive side, but they sure do add that "oh so cool" factor to your loading bench!!!!
As was posted earlier, pictures just don't do them justice. They are really nice. Another plus is that they take up less square inches on your bench top compared to the plastic univeral types.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably forego the handgun cartridge blocks. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice and get the job done. It's just that the holes are milled a little deep, so putting a powder funnel on the brass is out. They still work well for all the other steps. Just something to keep in mind for anyone else out there thinking of it. Since I also have 3 universal plastic holders, I can work around this and still use them for loading 250 round batches, with one free block left to move cartridges to the next step.
I'll buy more rifle cartridge blocks once I get into loading .308

For those wanting fitted trays without the huge cost. Frankford Arsenal makes plastic ones for $5 a piece for a bunch of calibers

Here I go.
So I talked to the source of these. He is a very honest person just trying to make a supplemental income. His product is great and his time we has put into these is not getting as rewarded as it should. As everyone has Ideas on how to make these for cheap and how they can take the idea and improve it or make their own, I am thinking that maybe just maybe we could help this person out with this idea and how to improve it and get some intellectual property rights on this and maybe even patent something unique. We all are cheap skates at heart even if you have the money or don't we pinch pennies and crap quarters. I have talked to him about some other unique Ideas and how he could make something more Nostalgic that someone would pay the money instead of being cheap. Sure it is a little overboard and a little childish but I know it would compliment anybody's time and effort and personalize the process and be a pretty neat conversation piece that would last a lifetime. I think that this creativity should go rewarded and that the honest business he has created should succeed it sounds like his first few customers took his idea and ran with it and really screwed him. He tried some bullet down blocks and got burnt by the guy and now even has a few competitors. I am not saying that reloading blocks are so unique that they cannot be made heck I have drilled old kitchen tables out and used them or just regular lumber. Sorry to go off on a tangent. I think this "BUSINESS" is worth supporting. I have put my order in and will post some pics once it they are done. Thank you BD for the heads up. Anyone who has some money to back this business and help him grow it and get some Intellectual Property Rights (HE ALREADY HAS ALL THE MACHINES AND TOOLING THAT HE OWNS) he just lacks the know how and the ideas of exclusivity and needs help getting the "Proprietary" portion of this. Again sorry for the tangent and getting off track. I believe as Big Daddy that these are a pretty neat Idea and are just plain out worth the relatively low dollars in the equation... |

These are very reasonably priced. He's also got a 3/4 inch for a bit less money than the 1 inch. I think they were under 20 bucks each. Can't wait to get mine.
