I don't think so as long as it has been kept dry.

+1 And kept in a low humidity environment.
I'm GLAD IMR got away from metal containers. I had to pitch a previously unopened can that when I opened it was rusted inside.

I currently have a 8 lb can of IMR 4831 that was probably 30 years old, that was unopened. I opened it, and have been using it with satisfactory results.

I have some old as dirt powder as well. Some of it is pushing 30 yrs old. (I store it in an old chest freezer)
It keeps pace on the chrony with the newer stuff That being said I reload the older stuff to plink with, and load the newer manufacture powder as my hunting loads. I've yet to have a misfire/hangfire with either. |

+1, means they agree with the previous poster. Be warned though, I'm no internet expert.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Some time ago I went binge cleaning my four- car shop and found an old ammo crate just filled with cans of 296, N-201, etc. I think I must have lost track of that crate during a move in 1981. One can of 4198 is marked $10.50 and I'd dated it 6/'80 and Winchester stopped making 296 in the 70's (they make it again now, thanks Winchester.)
One 1/4-ful can of IMR4895 has a price tag $7.95 on it and that would probably date it mid 70's. Prices had really jumped in the late 70's... Thanks Jimmah Cahtuh. (I know, here we are again.) That old crate has definitely been in this non-climate- controlled garage for my entire 14yrs at this address and who knows how it was kept elsewhere. Every single can still has 'the smell' and look of good powder and I've been loading it ever since. There was also a large cache of primers in various flavors and they are all just fine, too. An old paper Unique 'can' is even rusting on the metal ends, but shoots just fine and is just as dirty now with light loads as it was then. As long as it's been sealed against moisture and still has the characteristic smell of good powder and isn't changing color, your IMR4350 should be good to go. Ps Don't ever get a 4- car garage. You won't believe what a pack rat you'll turn into. |
