I cannot make out if the rabbit has been photoshopped or not. Still the hawk makes for a good pic.

In this case, I think Trix are for hawks...

It is a juvenile Northern Goshawk, a type of accipiter (forest hawk).  Adults look similar, but their eyes are blood red.  This one is likely being trained for falconry, as you can see its leg band.  Goshawks are a popular falconry species worldwide.

It is hard to tell if it is photoshopped, but it could be an already dead rabbit for training.

True "night hawks" aren't raptors at all.  They are members of the goatsucker family (no I didn't make that up), and include such species as the whip-poor-will.

Goshawks are quite aggressive, and during the early summer mating season will attack people, including me riding my mountain bike on one of my favorite local trails here.

I admit I'm a bird geek.  One of my many flavors of geek.

I love watching the birds of prey around the port and home. Hawks, falcons, sparrow hawks, Bard owls, Great Horned, and even white owls. Even the occasional bald eagle around the river.
I watched a falcon knock a dove out of the sky, then run it down when it tried to escape and start eating it.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

They are fun to watch.  I was picking up some feed the other day, and a sharp-shinned hawk (a tiny accipiter) was munching on a swallow it killed by chasing it into the warehouse.  He would let you walk right up to him, because he wasn't leaving that dinner.
