i had not looked at talley. nothing says for ruger. do their standard rings fit ruger m77s? also have you had any dealings with the burris weaver style bases for the m77? |

I just got a set of Leupolds for mine, after I had a set of Lynx mounts(South african company) come of during a shoot.

I have ALOT of Leupold mounts on my rifles, but after doing some reading I found out that the standard mounts with the windage screws are inherently weaker mounts due to their design. I haven't had any trouble with mine, but this lead me to search for a different mount type. I do like the Leupold dual dovetail mounts and will use them when need be.
The last set of mounts I purchased was the Talley lightweight one-piece base/rings. I haven't mounted them yet, but I'm pleased with the design.
I do like the Warne mounts, but haven't purchased a set yet.
I asked about the Weaver style mounts here, but didn't receive much feedback. According to what I've read, the Weaver style mounts are some of the strongest out there...I don't know.
Best of luck.

Burris makes some neat Ruger-style ringmounts that go for about $35. They are a rather decent alternative meriting consideration. BTW, WELCOME

thanks for the info. i looked at the burris first but they only come in med height and i'm mounting a 50mm so i didn't know if they would be tall enough. i think i like the warnes over the leupolds though.

I have Warne QD's on a Ruger. They are nice enough. But I don't like the insert on them that mates to the lug recess on the gun.
I have Ruger rings on my others and they are simple and solid. |

I would go with the Warne rings. I have both Leop. and Warne and like the Warne much better.

In general, I really like the Warnes, but I have not put them on a Ruger. I think Warne is easier to use if you want to do it yourself. |

I have Ruger rings on all of my Ruger's and have never had a problem with them, but if I were to change I would probably go with Burris.
