Really concisering this scope but I need a couple opinions. I've gotten good reviews so I don't think the quality is an issue but, for hunting purposes, there could be times I have to pull off a 50 yard shot, do I really want a fixed scope if I could get in that situation?

If for hunting, I would get the 3-9x SS.

For now but plan to make that an effective hunting range.
The 3-9 is out of my price range, need to keep it under 500

http://www.samplelist.com/ There aren't any available now, but sooner or later a SS 3x9 will show it's face.
