$10,000.00 worth of prizes and anyone can win. You just have to have product you bought from SWFA in the picture (no naked gals Ed).
Great stories along with a great picture really help your chances of being one of 14 + finalist. Once the finalist are picked the public votes and whoever gets the most votes gets the Grand Prize, second most votes gets 2nd, etc. etc.
Here are some of the past winners.
Entry cut off is just a few days away.

Hahaha...looks like my Badger rings and BC caps too!!
Well, the scope, BC caps and rings were garnered from SWFA. Not sure about the "tactical" blot knob.

So if he was to be made a finalist who would the prize go to?
Mark, you should enter something. Did I mention that I know the guy that picks the finalist.

Chris, theres no way I'd even place. I've looked through some of the entries over the years and a lot of them are simply awesome. African hunts, military photos, pics of high-speed gear of all sorts, guns with pretty gals, etc. I've already showed pics of my stuff to this fine forum over the years. Pretty basic stuff, save my wicked cool mobile reloading bench.

Hmmmm. I need to go shoot something. I should have taken pics of the two coyotes I shot this morning. Would have been hard to take a clean pic of the one though. A 95 gr. Berger VLD is kinda messy on a coyote sized critter. Second one was dropped at 380 yds., and not nearly as badly damaged. |

I am there with Mark. I can't compete with those stories and pictures, and I don't even have a "wicked cool mobile reloading bench." Maybe I could go shoot a yote or something tomorrow and at least give you a picture with some mountains in the background and the Aimpoint I bought from you to put on my AR build. Still wouldn't win. Too many other much better pics and stories.

Andrew, I respectfully disagree with you here.
I personally LOVE photos from the wild WEST with mountains in the background! I'd go for it if I were you!

If we have 15 prizes we pick 15 finalist, so you will win something if you are chosen as a finalist. Also the best picture/story often does not win. Whoever can drum up the most votes wins.

Once you are in the finalists its more about how many people you have on you facebook that will throw you a vote. I've thrown a number of photos out there and I cant wait to see what Ted did this year he ususally comes up with a good one. Helo you have a really good chance with that awesome country for a background now if you can con a cute girl or borrow a cute kid and create an interesting image you could be numero uno

"Here are a few of the regulars all set up with optics from SWFA. The Winchester 300win mag on the left wears a Viper 4-12, the Savage 12 next to it wears a Nitrex 3-15 that came off the samplelist, next the Remington 308 which wears arguably the best tactical 3-9 in the industry the SS3-9, and lastly the 6.5 Grendel sporting a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14 and SWFA SSALT. guys to create a winning photo you need to create something with visual interest. This was the number 2 winner last year - what did the guy buy from SWFA - Weaver long bracket side mount bracket with 1 inch rings. He did did not buy something expensive and exotic just something he needed and most of their sales are probably just like that. What he did do is create visual interest. Note this was the first digitally manipulated image in the contest history so it was a photo that never existed in real life but it did take an otherwise plain photo that anyone could make without expensive studio lighting and create visual interest so people liked it. In photo contest traditionally photos of kids and cute girls tend to do really well but you have to remove the distracting items in the background and create visual interest. Look at the photos you see in magazines. Well not you Ed becuse SWFA's need for photos has to be in good taste for a family enviroment so nudes are out I figured that out when I sent some great nude with optics photos. So its a learning enviroment for all of us. SWFA need's good photos and you guys can do this if you need my help I can make some suggestions on lighting and camera technique but you are bright guys and you need to come up with something that is visually interesting - more so than throwing the door to the safe open and making a snap shot of what's in there. You can get past being visually illiterate by looking at good photos and learning what they look like from there come up with a unique idea. http://www.montezucker.com/portfolio.html http://www.ppa.com/community/photopost/ Edited by Urimaginaryfrnd - February/08/2011 at 08:27 |

That is a sweet photo. Not sure I have talent like that. There are some good entries this year. I really like the photo and story of the picture with the fox. Great stuff.
