The first big Blizzard of the year. Well It is just 2" of ice now, but they say to expect 12 to 18" of wind blown snow on top of the ice tomorrow. With the temp dropping below 0 for the next 3 days it may stay for a while.  Cool Just got back from the Walmart Supercenter and it is stripped of almost all the food. No Meat at all, No Potatoes, bread, even the can goods isle was empty. There was a good supply of frozen Chinese shrimp. I would hate to see what it would be like if a war was to break out.

Everybody find a warm spot and have a good week.

I just got a call from a client,  the roof of the Hard Rock Cherokee Casino just collapsed crushing the new poker room. He said it is a real mess. They think more is going to come down and crush the slot machine areas. I have 12" with 4-5 ft drifts. The Casino is about 12 Miles north of me.

We missed most of the bad stuff up here.  Only had 6" of snow but wind is suppose to pick up and we could see wind chills tonight of -40 to -50.  Going to be brisk.  Blowing snow is going to make a mess as well.

Record for most snow in a single day. Now official at 14" on top of 2" of Ice. It is just 2:00 and it is a long way from ending. The *&^^%#^^ glow plugs ae too weak to get the tractor started. Now 8.6 deg. 38 mph wind with gust to 45. Need a kite.Wink

Day before yesterday it was 78 deg. Tied the record high for that day. More the extremes than the temp.

Hey 3_tens...
Not so bad here in OKC.
Well, you couldn't get around and the wind would spin you out, but it was nothing like the Christmas eve 2009 fiasco.
Gotta love this Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Disruption, or whatever the hell they call it these days.
Hope you live through it over by T- town.

I've no idea how they measure the snowfall in something like this. The wind just keeps shuffling the drifts around during the whiteouts. Oh well.

Measuring is hard. My property has waves like a lake. 10" then a 3' drift every 50' or so.
I think the glow plugs on my tractor have gone bad and I can't get the tractor to start. The drive in is to long to do by hand. It may be friday before I can dig out. There is a 4' drift in the turn around behind the garage and there is no way to get the car out of the garage. You can't shovel it because the wind blows the snow back in as fast as you can shovel it away. With a high of 8 predicted and 30 mph winds it will be hard to do much tomorrow. Good to hear from you.
Stay warm.

Bugsy, thank you so much for those kind caring words.  You are a compasionate soul that begs a tear from me.  I would like to send you a heart warming gift.  Whats your home address again?  I'll over night this so it's still warm when it arrives.  While i'm at it i'll send along something nice to my dear friend that lives in Boca Raton and sends me daily screen shots of his weather forecast..

LOL, I had compassion once. Lost it in my first marriage. On the bright side, you'll be able to scoff at me soon when we hit 95 temp. / humidity every day for months. It sucks too. Take care my friend.

Now that is the twist of the deal.  Here in SD we freeze our posteriors off in the winter and deal with 90's and a good week or two of 100's all with high humidity.  Start to wonder why we live here exactly.

All the semis are stuck. Tulsa only has 50 salt trucks. The Broken Arrow Expressway is down from 4 lanes each way to only one. The other three are piled high with snow from what they have cleared..
