Yea,apple spice. NO thanks again! That dark of a beer is it? REALLY sounds like my kind. If you like your coffee black and strong try drinking this beer at room temp. Believe it or not it seems,to me,to knock some of the bite(bitterness)out of it as when it's cold.

you are correct, beer is supposed  to be served at german room temp which is somewhere between 55 and 65 degrees. colder beer doesnt taste like it really should. i do like my beer chilled a bit i put them in the fridge and when i want one i put it on the counter for half hour 45min or so then drink it.
creamy dark is one of the best dark beers i have ever had.

I've got to be honest here in that if I'm going to be consuming a good bit it"s strictly Bud Light. But I does like my dark beer!

I like them Mexican beers!!!  And the Dutch beers.....those real strong, bitter ones. Bandito I drink them because we can't get South African beer in America...at least, I never found any....(and the Foster's is not the strong Australian one...it is the diluted Canadian version.........Sad )

If you could get a "barley wine" in USA try it, 8-12% volume of alcohol, the taste is strong and it will kick your butt if you down a few.

Bell's Third Coast Old Ale and Sierra Nevada Bigfoot are two common barley wines in the midwest

Many of the local brew pubs also do a seasonal batch, also. It is not my favorite style but it is definitely a big beer.

OUR BEERS

image

FireBrick

FireBrick was introduced in 1999, and is named after the bricks that line Schell's old boilers. It is the culmination of an effort to bridge the gap between the "popular-tasting" beers and the heartier, hand-crafted ones.

FireBrick is a refreshing all-malt lager with an amber-red hue that reflects the feeling of the brewery itself.

It has been described by Ted Marti as having a "subtle maltiness combined with a hint of hoppy taste that creates a mild, pleasantly drinkable beer." It is made with four specialty malts, along with Vanguard, Chinook and Hallertau hops.

Beer Style: Vienna-style amber lager

Alcohol by Volume: 5%

Characteristics: Reddish-Amber hue. Carries a mild, pleasant maltiness with subtle sweetness and a light hoppy finish. A very drinkable, year round beer.

Awards:
Bronze medal at the 2002 Great American Beer Festival.

I really like the beers offered by Rahr Brewing, a microbrewery near me out of Ft. Worth, TX.
