Finally, Nikon is doing away with their ancient coin slot adjustments on the prostaff, and has gone to zero reset turrets It's about time they did that.
Their 2011 catalog is online now, if no one else has mentioned that. Cool stuff with their scopes seems to be with the lowest Pro-staff line: -Zero reset, finger adjustable turrets on the Prostaffs -quick focus on the pro-staffs -A new 3-9x 40mm Rimfire prostaff with specialized rimfire BDC, and a wider FOV (with shorter eye relief, as a rimfire scope should have). The catalog now amusingly quotes "98% light transmission" for the Prostaff on page 34. Apparently they've somehow magically made it superior to the Monarchs in light transmission. Even barring that apparent typo, the Pro-staffs now seem to be almost as good as the Buckmaster series. Looks like prices haven't changed too much, either. This should make Nikon far more competitive with the Sightron SIs, Bushnell Trophy XLTs, Redfield Revolution, Leupold VX1s, Vortex Crossfires/Diamondbacks and other comparably priced scopes. |
