    Posted: January/15/2011 at 15:38
2011 starts a new era of innovation from one of the world's oldest optic manufacturers.  Steiner has doubled in house optical engineering capacity in the past 5 years hiring top optical engineers that specialize in state of the art riflescope technologies.

R&D outside co-operation and expenditures have increased more than two-fold to get more "cutting edge" developments.

Steiner's merger with Beretta has provided both companies with deeper insight into military needs and desires.  Steiner has a stellar reputation for building top performing military binoculars and has more binoculars in military use than all competing brands combined.

Steiner's increased assets and technologies have allowed them the luxury of designing a precision riflescope from the ground up using the best tools and engineers available.  These scopes are not adaptations to existing designs they are completely new from the ground up.

Steiner also had the benefit of evaluating everything on the market and were able to use the best performers as their benchmark to exceed.  The new Steiner Military Tactical scopes are the real deal and will be seeing duty by many militaries world wide very soon.

They better be good, the price tag has them in contention with the best stuff out there.

Any idea when they will be on the market, I feel the need for a hard-core torture test.

And someone (with English as their first language) needs to edit their copy. Badly.

And from the copy, it appears 19.5 mils is total adjustment, which ain't ideal.

We sent them some corrections in regards to the pdfs and we should have posted that this was way preliminary information that has not been fully scrutinized and verified for accuracy, rough rough draft if you will.  If you read it with a German accent the mistakes are not too bad.

These are the real deal.  Just look at the ingredients.....Beretta pockets, top German and Austrian optical engineers and Steiner's long military history.

There will not be too many available for civilians as that is not the target market.  Steiner has sold more binoculars to more militaries world wide than any company, their connections alone are probably worth what Beretta paid when they bought Steiner if properly farmed.

I also wonder if they are FFP or SFP?
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

this scope right here is the reason why i am so objective to other "tactical scopes"

this thing looks like the real deal.

they look sleek. usually tactical scopes have those target turret knobs that are so high. it reminds me of how in the old batman the penuin's submarine scope would pop out of the water to take a look around.

but this...it just looks beefy...but not cumbersome. strong and rock solid, but not overdone on steroids.

i wonder how much its gonna weigh?

The guy with the fat face and glasses just doesn't look believable behind the scope, they should use the saltier looking guy for the real ads.

(I couldn't let that last post be "the" last post for long.  Seriously?  "Objective" to other tactical scopes? And the rest...)

They look interesting.  However, we should reserve judgement until they are out in the market.  Steiner definitely has the expertise to pull it off, so we'll see.

Beretta also has Burris. I wonder if this is the R&D outside co-operation that Brady mentioned.

I did some surfing and found quite a few hits regarding Burris tactical scopes. I can see what you are talking about.
If it is true, I am glad. What Don Burris did over thirty years was quite extraordinary. He founded a new scope company when Leupold was "the" game in town in the U.S.A. He was innovative and his scopes were and are very well made. If Steiner did consult with a "sister" company, I think they have done quite well for themselves.
I have a pair of Steiner binoculars and like them a lot. I look forward to their outcome with rifle scopes.

I doubt it has anything to do with Burris.  Looks to me like it's of Optronica/Premier lineage.

I really don't know enough about these scopes, but Jon is probably closer to truth. Judging on cost alone, would make his lineage truer.
I'm still am on a steep learning curve regarding these types of scopes.
