I have recently bought a Savage Model 12 FVSS in 22-250 with the heavy fluted barrell.  I have also bought a 4.5-14-40 Nikon Buckmaster scope to go with it and flip up caps from Butler Creek. I am going to buy the Leupold STD rings and bases. Should I get the one piece or the two piece base?  and what height should I get the rings at?

Food for thought.......

I have three of the Savage short action accu-trigger rifles. Warne, or a number of other companies offer a one piece Tactical base for your rifle. The Tactical base will mount most any Weaver style ring, including the Leupold PRW & QRW rings. All my Savage LE rifles are mounted with this set up, but with Warne Tactical rings, of course....

Talley light weight aluminum rings. They have savage specific rings.
They dont break the bank either. Have these on my 110 and like them very much.
