I have a Savage 12 F/TR in .308. I will be installing a EGW 20moa scope base.
I will be shooting F Class matches at 600 yards, and then to 1000 yards.
Please help me with a scope around the $500 budget (or close) if possible.
I was thinking:
Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 (Mil-Dot or V-Plex Fine)
Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50 (Mil-Dot)
SWFA Super Sniper 20x42 (Mil-Dot)
Thank You

I'd look hard at one of these. http://swfa.com/Burris-65-20x50-Fullfield-II-Rifle-Scope-P48182.aspx Great price on a very good scope. With the left over funds you can buy more bullets. None of the scopes on your short list are bad. Keep us posted. |

I can't offer much other than agree with the above, I have a Burris FullField II on my muzzleloader and I freaking LOVE that scope. Crisp, clear, and it didn't break my bank.

I have this scope and it is an excellent scope for the money! The only negative i've got of it is that past 18x magnification the view starts getting slightly milky. Nothing major but noticeable...

I have a ffll 4.5-14 and it drives me nuts. The eye relief is really touchy and I hate the power adjustment. Having said that I do like the mil dots in the scope and the image is clear but I am looking to replace this scope, the eye relief deal I cannot live with. This the only scope I own that gives me this trouble.
