My newest passion...

Scoped with pre-production Ellis Optics 4-16x50.

.338 Lapua Magnum, Stiller match action, McMillan A-5 stock, Rock Creek "tight .338' 30inch barrel with custom muzzle brake.  Built by Mike Cuypers of Bijou Creek in Colorado.  Craftsman of the highest caliber.  It shoots so well it is like magic...

12lb without the scope.  I could have gone a lot lighter.  The brake is so good it is hard to describe.  I know I'm not shooting the really long range stuff right now, but I get more recoil and barrel rise from my .243 BAR.

Mike Cuypers is "The Man" in my book.  Any rifle I have made in the future, I will ask him to build.

.458 WM is a little light for whitetails.  I use a .458 Lott...

It might make a great varmint rifle with those solid brass bullets.  Certainly won't make a big entrance/exit wound.  I don't have any suitable hunting bullets right now, nor do I have a suitable hunting location for that rifle.  I'm probably going to shoot targets for a while...
