dude, i dont mean to be a dick, but why do you reload??? you stated in another thread that you use factory ammo for hunting???? why reload then? you dont get good practice by using hand loads for one thing and hunt with factory ammo. unless i miss read your post im confused by you.

No but 99 % of my shooting is done at the range. I usually use factory loads when I hunt. Although I have come up with a few combinations I like with hunting bullets in reloads.

What do you mean? I target shoot 99% of the time with frangible target grade bullets. I can still place my factory rounds under 1 moa anytime I want.

For my target shooting.

That would be like me saying someone shooting 100's of rounds of 22 lr for practice does not make them a better marksmen.

seems like a waste of time and money to me. you can reload a lot of ammo by hand for the price of a box of factory ammo... and you know exactly what went into it. i shoot the same loads i hunt with no matter what im doing, unless im doing some development with a new bullet or powder etc.. and you have to deal with poi shift when going from hand load to factory load as well.

sorry to hijack your thread but i wanted to know.

no i shoot to make myself better. nothing replaces the feeling of shooting a live animal, you can't practice that on paper. i shoot to make myself as consistent as possible. i prefer live targets when it allows because they arent static. in the field conditions arent near as close to ideal as they are on the bench. i shoot more sierra bullets than any other brand so you tell me what i shoot for.

rant off man im cool!Big Grin
i probably should have just pmd you im sorry man.Sorry

Not Ranting. No problems. We just shoot for different reasons. Hunting is not my biggest thing with shooting is all. To each his own.

I reload for my needs you reload for yours.
