The problem with the Zeiss Conquest line is that they too big (both in size, weight and power) for any application I currently have.  There are smaller Conquests (according to http://www.zeiss.com/c1256bcf0020be5f/Contents-Frame/c6b062a1c5089a5585257546006e354d )
but good like finding one.

Any of the scopes you mentioned are going to be close.  IMO Instead of worrying about brand so much I would just look to the specs you need and are interested in first.  Then once you know exactly what you want that way, then pick out the scopes that fit that category from the different brands which are in your specified price range. None of them will be perfect in every regard.  But that is almost impossible to obtain.

I have a big sky 1.25-5x.  I think it is a dandy scope with decent class and it has ran well for me on a couple of my lever guns.

Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

VX-III or VX-3?  There's a difference, with VX-3 being better.  Even in spite of the improvements, I still think the Conquest is perhaps a bit better optically, VX-3 better mechanically.  I think they are essentially equal, quality- and value-wise.  VX-3 offers some configs that Conquest doesn't offer and vice-versa, so which is "better" depends totally on what's important to you.  If you want a small compact and lightweight low- to mid-power scope, for instance, the 1.5-5X20, 1.5-6X32 or 2.5-8X32 VX-3s are excellent, and Conquest doesn't offer similarly compact alternatives.  If you want an illuminated reticle, Leupy has models in the VX-3 line, and Conquest doesn't.  On the other hand, Leupold doesn't have anything to compare with the Zeiss Rapid Z reticles, and Conquest has a decided optical edge in the higher magnification scopes.

This might be one to look at.  http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x32-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P10818.aspx

The Viper line are great scopes.  And with the discount, they are a really good deal right now.  Glass will be comparable to the VX3.
