Hi,

Can someone from SWFA tell me if the Simmons model 512104 is in stock yet? This is the 4-14x44, Aetec, matte black model. I've emailed Stephanie a few times in the late summer/early fall. The last I heard from her was that Oct. 31 was the target date.

Also, can anyone suggest a decent mount/ring set up? I'd like to be able to quickly switch between two different rifles, both of which are flat top with a Weaver rail. I have an ARMS 22M68 mount for my Aimpoint, and I really like the quick release throw levers. Is there anything like this I could use? Thanks for the help.

Eric

The scopes are still out of stock. They were suppose to be new for this 05 year, and it is nearly 06 already. Unsure why it is taking Simmons so long to produce a product. Due to this an expected delivery date is unknown with these master series scopes.

Leupold offers a quick release weaver style ring.

Thanks Brady.

Those Leupold rings look perfect for my set up. I'll likely get those and the Simmons from SWFA when the scopes are in stock.

so, all master series scopes aren't there? or are just a couple in because some of them say they're available, like in the Prohunter Master Series.

Brady,

The Simmons model 512104 is in stock, or was that in response to deadeye's question?

I also have 3 other quick questions about accessories:

1. Just to make sure, are those QRW Leupold bases sold in pairs, or do you have to buy 2 of them?

2. Also, just to make sure, will the QRW bases be what I want for a standard Bushmaster AR15 A3 flattop? I believe this is a standard Weaver rail, but I'm pretty new to optics and platforms so I thought I would ask.

3. What size Butler Creek flip up lens covers would I need to order for the Simmons 4-14x44 model 512104?

Thanks again. You guys have the best prices and customer service I've come across, and it's a pleasure to do business with you.

Eric

Ok, 4 questions, then I'll quit bugging you.

4. Will the "high" Leupold QRW ring be tall enough to get the scope above a standard A2 front sight post on a flat top AR15? Or will I also need a riser on top of this?

Thanks again.

That was a response to deadeye's question.

I read right past the part where you said you had a flattop in the original post. The flat top is the base so you wouldn't need to purchase any bases. The flattop you have is picatinny style. The leupold QRW rings are weaver style. This isn't the best ring for a flattop, but would get the job done. The PRW's and QRW's don't get enough "bite" on the flat top and can pose a problem later on. Since you already have the ARMS 22 ring you should just get another one and have one of the best quick release rings available.

We hand fit all of our scopes with the lens caps when they come in. Since they haven't come in we are unsure what sizes you will need.

To get over the front sight post you will need to get a spacer for each ring.

Two ARMS22M682 rings and two ARMS22M68F spacers and you will be set.
