Two deer so far.  Was looking for horns the first two weeks but...........................

I did pass up a fork horn trailing a doe just after daylight on opening day.  After the first day deer movement came to a screeching halt. Seems hunters are seeing more and more coyotes(not really coyotes but until biologists come up with a proper name that'll do.) lately.  I talked to one guy who had killed 3.

I got to hunt bear on private hunting corporation property last week.  Seems they had seen 8 bear on one deer drive.  Also, one of my friend's who belongs to the corp had his daughter charged by a sow.  LUCKILY she at least shot her rifle and scared it off.  Bear got to within 6-8ft of her.  So the members decided to put on some drives to thin them out.  We saw 6 on 2 drives.  Got 3 on the first drive and 1 on the last.  Only thing I saw was a doe w/2 fawns.  We actually saw more bear than deer.  5 deer,6 bear.

She did good enough for an inexperienced 16 yr old.  She actually told her dad that she killed the bear.  Seems she really just fired the rifle, threw it down, and ran. IF she wouldn't have fired it the situation could have been bad.

I passed up on a small but legal 6 point opening day.....I was in a tower with my friend when he missed a real big 8 the following friday. Didn't get anything this year but then again i usually don't shoot doe unless it's late season and somebody has doe tags to fill. All in all was a good November....saw a lot of deer and some turkey too.
