Ok guys, we've gone through all of the orders and free'd up some due to credit card issues and suspected fraudulent orders.
We also put a limit on them of 2 per person to keep people from buying them in large quantities like they did the first go round.
I don't have to tell anyone that if you want one you better JUMP ON IT NOW! Our servers have been smokin' since we launched this deal and what is left won't make it past today.

Hey Chris, Julio wanted one but you know with him being on west coast time may not get on for a while, He PMed me earlier to be on the lookout for one. He may want you to hold him one if you can.
if you can't I'll just buy another and sell it to him. Just let me know.

Thanks for the offer! My order is in.
Chris,
I have some questions:
1) What battery does the ShotCam use? 2) If proprietary, where can I get replacement batteries, and how much do they cost? 3) I will mount this on an AR15; what sort of remote, or tape switch does this unit take?
Thanks, mbogo |
1. I have no idea, just saw my first ShotCam on Friday and it does not look like something you will get at Wal-Mart. You'll need to contact Burris.
2. We are looking into this but have yet to get a response from Burris.
3. It does not come with one but some of the images show it with one. It might be available as an accessorie from Burris. We do not have any. |

Got my first one today, pretty cool.
Pics coming.
Wanna see it on a suppressed 1911 or an HK45? Either way, it is definitely medium pimp'in.
I should have video of a hog's life ending soon, then it will be pimp'in large.

Got mine, played with it, very cool.
First thoughts:
1. Battery lasts 4 hours on pause (ready to take video with the press of one button) but in standby for 9 days. I need to take a magnet and figure out how to put it in standby - since they don't make a holster for my gun.
2. Video quality is better than I expected. It needs lots of light to look its best, but the light on the device serves that purpose well.
3. It is heavy. You could say "robust" or "not fragile", say what you will, it is heavy.
4. The weight at the muzzle-end of a handgun changes the balance of the weapon, spend time on the range before considering yourself ready to use in a real recordable situation.
5. The USB connection is 1.1 rather than 2.0, it's a minor thing, but larger videos take awhile to push to the computer. Minor issue.
6. The light is bright, the laser is brighter, everything works as it should - thus far.
Today's objective is to find the area that is sensitive to magnetism; with that, I can put it in standby and have it start recording when I remove the magnet. I'll let you know how that goes.

USB 1.1? WTH? Why would they use such a slow and outdated standard? RC, What does the label on the battery say? Thanks, mbogo

FYI: a small magnet attached to the rail interface (the metal piece that attaches the shotcam to the 1913 rail) will put the device in standby mode. Pull the magnet and the camera immediately starts recording.
Cool beans.

same question goes- why would they use such a small resolution camera. thats the only thing i cant stress enough about when it comes to recording crucial evidence. why is it always on a tiny grainy camera? I guess with how small the video files will be, 1.1 won't be all that slow to upload.

Both I ordered came today with the GG&G HK adapter. That sure was a big surprise to see one mounted on a Beretta on the box . I'll be out to the range next week with a report to follow. Thanks for your information RC.
