I've got to go with Durability. I've been hunting over 40 years, and I've never been in a situation where I thought "I need my clearer scope". There have been times I wish I hadn't forgotten my binoculars, or that I had my full size binocs rather than my compacts, but I've never missed a shot because my scope wasn't bright or clear enough. Now, all my scopes are quality these days, but early on, I was using some really cheap Weavers and Bushnells. I never had a problem that wasn't durability related.

The most important is reapeatability which is not necessarily durability. I have to go with size and weight for the intended purpose (and also how it is proportioned to the gun being used). Most scopes in the same price range have pretty much the same durability.
