Hello all, I am new to this forum, and rifles in general.
I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now, and find this forum very informative. I've been fussing over my Mini-14 for awhile now, and really like the end product. It's intended use is for self defense, and varmint. (Hogs) My wife got me a nice Bushnell 3200 3-9X40 for my birthday a while back (she did good, and the 3200 is very nice), but it won't take a sunshade (do I really need one?) and the multi-X reticle is ok, but I really like the 4A reticle (it looks faster) . I never mounted ithe scope, but can't return it now. I emailed Bushnell technical support, but they no longer do reticle replacement. I see SWFA does trade ins, and I was wondering if there was a nice 3-9 with better glass than the 3200, and a 4A reticle that might justify the extra expense of a trade in. This is my first post, and I'd welcome your input. |

drat, I can't edit.
Anyway, I'd like to add that I'd want a 1" tube, but no AO. |

what are you looking to spend and have you got a quote from SWFA as to a current worth? WE need to know what price range to work with.

I got my reply from SWFA trade.
It's too low for upgrading on anything. Guess I'm "stuck" with an unused Bushnell 3200 :) The effective range of the Mini-14 580 is less than 200 yds from what I read, so this scope will do just fine for my purposes. (Defense and varmint) Thanks anyway. |

3-9x40 zeiss conquest would be the most popular choice in that size, probably a good bit better than the 3200 too.

Welcome to the OT at2!
Vortex also makes a very good 2-7 & this is probably more in the 3200 price range! The glass is a little better on the Vortex Viper but not as good as the Zeiss Conquest as mentiond above.
