I have a Remington 700 Tactical 308 W/ heavy bbl. and am mounting a 50mm objective. I plan on a 20 moa picatinny base, and need to know if I can get away with medium rings or not. Thanks for you time. Oh decided to go with the Millet 4-16 X 50mm TRS-1. Thank again

Mediums for sure, possibly lows. I have TPS lows on a winchester heavy barrel with a 50mm objective

Thanks ST, I know Millet recommends high rings with a regular base and thought maybe that was just them playing it safe with a safe answer. But I am trying to get as close to the bbl as possible. I will have Butler Creeks on it as well.

It will depend some upon what rings and base you go with. Some bases are taller than others, and most rings are different.

Mine is an EGW as well. They have two for the Rem, one is taller than the other. That might make the difference. The HD is the newer lower model.

Hey Supertool whats the big difference between the EGW HD mounts and the Regular one the offer? Is it coating or something, and do you use the Aluminum or steel bases. Thanks!

So you were able to mount a 50 mm objective with the non HD version of the EGW mount with 20moa with super lows. Or do you have the 20moa to play with?

The regular EGW base is very tall off the receiver. The H.D. model is made of 7071 aluminum instead of 6061, and is not as tall off the receiver.

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
