I recently bought a 1000 rounds of Fiocchi 223 rem 62gr FMJ.  After shooting a box of 50 in my AR15 that wouldn't pattern under 3" @100yds I tossed them in my tumbler after popping out the caps.

When I pulled them out to prep for reloading almost half half off-center primer holes!  Its a wonder I didn't mess up my de-capping die! check out the pictures.

I guess I need to ask just how far off center can a primer hole be before I should toss the casing??

I use a Lee's Neck sizing and decapping die.  On these I didn't full stroke the die to neck size, I just decapped and tossed them into the tumbler.  I can see where the decapping pin dented some of the worst ones before finding the hole.  I think I will send a picture to Fiocchi USA and after I shoot and sort the other 950 rounds I bought I'll mail all to bad ones to Fiocchi!

I have had a batch of rem brass the same way, They all shot fine. I took a 11/32 drill bit and opened the flash hole up and run the deprimer stim on my die out a little and kept it loose so it would move to the hole. I wouldn't warry about it, heck if you don't use them mail'em my way.Big Grin

Status update:  there is work in progress to make Big Bud Perm a happy man again.

Fiocchi is stepping up on this for sure.  Will update later, make sure the transation is as smooth as they say it is before we go praising them to much.
