I just picked up some .30 cal, 135gr Sierra Match Kings to shoot in my .308. I'm going to start with Vargay and see what happens in my 12 twist Remmy.
A friend has uses them in his .308 and loves them. I've never heard of them before today. Bucky

Varmint loads?
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I've seen them, but never used in a .308.

Interested in hearing your results.

boy mark i dont know my chart recommends a 1:14 for stuff that light. it wont hurt to try though some times "listed"  factory chamberings and the real result are different.

Yeah, I know. I thought the same thing but this friend of mine was using a 12 twist Remmy got stellar results.
(shrug)
This will be the lightest bullet I ever used with this rifle.

give it a shot, the matchkings are generally long for their given weights which can make up for the lack of weight, it may be more like shooting something closer to 150gr as far a oal goes.
let us know how they roll.

I have a question, will the shorter barrel  length on Black Betty make a difference, positive or negative as far as stabilizing these light bullets? Just wondering through...
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Don't know. I didn't consider that. The lightest bullet I've shot to date is the 155gr. Lapua Scenars and they performed wonderfully. Probably the best bullet I've ever used with her.
Might try some RL-15 too. I just bought these 135 grainers on a whim.

Betty got some new bling bling coming on!

Seems like a light bullet to me.  What kind of numbers on that one.  Never heard of it before.
