Hi folks first time here can someone please assist me I have my rifle in bits on the desk and want to mount my new Farrell 20moa scope mount but which way round. Stupid question I know but it is marked PIC Rear however if I mount it with that to the rear of the action it slops downward is this correct. The reason being at 1000yrds for the first time I couldn't elevate enough to get on target I had to aim almost of the target.
The advice I was give was add a 20moa so thats where I'm at right now Many Thanks

You want the high side on the back of the action

Many thanks for that confirmation trying to get my head around the fact that the high side is to the rear so it would slope downwards so to speak when I am trying to elevate my poa I suppose that extra height overall will help.

Welcome to the OT Forum...
I don't want to seem rude, but I may...
First, a search would show that this question has been answered in detail on the OT forum several times...
Second, until you fully understand the pros and cons of a "20MOA rail" or any other "shooting aid", I question your need for it. That is a major failing in the "shooting community" today. Far too much technology and far too many using it who don't understand it.
I see people all the time talking about the "dangers" of this or that in hunting, shooting, etc. What about putting a 1000+ yard shooting instrument in the hands of a person who does not fully understand what he is using.
NOT trying to denigrate you in any way. Just saying... spend some time learning about what you are about to do, why you are doing it... If you have to go online and ask "which end goes where?", you clearly need to do some more research.
Sorry, but if you have made up your mind to shoot long range and need specialized hardware in order to reach whatever long range goal you have set, you should fully understand the hardware BEFORE you start sending steel/brass/lead/depleted uranium/etc pellets downrange at high velocity.
Instant gratification... it has consequences as well as rewards.
I suggest you at least go visit the site below and parts II and III. Then do some REAL studying before you go to the range...
There is a lot of knowledge to be gained here at the OT, as well. Please ask all your questions and get them anwered... and understand the answers before you shoot.
I just question the feasibility of sending someone out to shoot who clearly does not understand his equipment...
My questions are ... what range are you shooting and why? If you look at the website above, you will see that there is a significant investment in time and money in long range shooting. I HOPE you want to get involved, because the more we can get involved, the better off we are. Just do your homework first...
Off the soapbox, I really am glad to see interest in shooting, whereever it appears. Be safe...

By tilting the scope down it raises the point of impact relative to the point of aim.
