Hi all,
Just discovered this forum- my apologies if this post belongs in a different forum section.
I have a Bushnell Holosight (v2) that I got a few months ago; it was NIB but a leftover one on the shelf at Gander. It is on a flattop AR.
I have already experienced the battery drain reported by others in this unit; in fact, my Energizer batteries leaked because of it. I cleaned the contacts up, and the scope works. After trying new batteries (at home) the reticle was centered. However- I took the batteries out immediately after testing, as a precaution- when I took the AR to the range yesterday, and put the batteries in, the reticle was almost off the lens (at the top).
The scope has a foam cover on it, so I doubt that it was jarred in transit to the range.
I spent some time trying to rezero, but it was a pain.
questions:
* has anyone experienced whether or not the Holosight holds zero after batteries are removed and replaced?
* has anyone experienced problems with hokding zero in general, and if so what do you do to mitigate that?
thanks!

I know this probably is not what you want to hear, but I had one on a shotgun used for turkey hunting. If you haven't shot a turkey load from a shotgun you haven't lived (ow!). I kept it on there for 3 seasons then sold it. I had no problems with it. If I were you, I'd send that sucker into Bushnell and demand a replacement.

Did you try to shoot it at the range?
On holographic sights, the position of the reticle on the screen is a function of where your head is. The POA is the same regardless of where on the screen the reticle is. ILya

thanks everyone- I will contact Bushnell and see what they say.
Koshkin, thanks I am familiar with what you described. yes, it was shot at the range; that is where the reticle all but disappeared from view up at the top. where is was far exceeds any tolerance for head postion being a factor.
