Anyone suppose that the widespread rioting in France may change european "sensibilities" regarding the value of the second amendment.   I'm guessing probably not, but hopefully the point won't be lost on everyone.

Nope. Nothing will change.

All of those 'wonderful' socialist paradises across the pond have their heads up their a$$e$ when it comes to individual freedoms.

On the upside, it should distract them from pissing and moaning about the US so much

I am surprised Chirac doesn't arrest the citizens who defend themselves from the rioters.  This could be construed as denying the rioters their civil rights!

 

One serious observation I have on these riots, is how slow Chirac reacted to the situation before he declared it a state of emergency.  Maybe his past ties sympathies are with Algerians.  He was sympathetic to the Algerians in the 50's under Mendes-France in the DeGaulle incident in Algeria.
