CF2 and I are going Mule Deer hunting all next week in Utah. We are both using Leica Riflescopes. We will let you know what we think when we get back.

Where in Utah are you hunting?

Give us the low down on the rifles in the pictures.

Jason we are hunting in Monticello. Top gun is a 6.5 STW built by Rifles Inc. and the bottom gun is my 6.5/284 built by Rifles Inc. Mine weighs in at right around 6lbs with the Leica scope.

San Juan Elk ridge?  or is it private ground?  There are some nice bucks in those areas.  I seen several in the elk ridge area that were over 30 inches wide.

I love nice equipment and it doesn't get much better than this.

Regarding the new Leica scopes....I checked out the "4a" reticle and didn't care for it.  The post were too far apart....about twice the distance shown in all the leica photos.

The reticles are definitely "fine" across the board. I didn't like it at first but considering where we will be hunting I think I will prefer it. If I get in a situation where it's low light and I have to get on target quick I may be second guessing it. Hopefully if that happens the top shelf Leica optics will balance everything out.

Brady, what was your main decision in choosing the Leica over the other 100's of scopes you and CFII have access too.
