We killed it. I'm no snake expert but it resembles a copperhead to much for me to want to chance it, I do know that much.

I'm pretty sure copperheads have slit eyes and a more triangular head, but that looks very close. Wonder what it is. I'd have took a shovel to the damn thing, or a 12 gauge would do the trick if you don't want to get close to it.

Texas Rat snake.

http://www.texassnakes.net/JuvTXrat_lg.jpg

edited because I forgot the picture. No Clue

Non venomous.

Worked at a parts house and opened a shock absorber box and one of them was wrapped around the shock. The box had been on the shelf a long time, the poo on the floor was a bit more recent.

The snake was only doing some free pest control.

I hardly ever kill snakes unless other people may get bitten, such as a high traffic workplace.

Non venomous.

Sad, the people always kill snakes when they find them.

They are very beneficial. Plus, Rat snakes eat mostly rodents. They follow the food.

A Copperhead eyes have a vertical slit in them, as well as Rattlers. The eyes on the SWFA snake has round eyes, as all non venomous snakes in our country have

I keep snakes as pets, and have given several seminars on them in schools when my kid's teachers invited me in to do so. That is how I got my nickname; Snakeman

Today, my children are grown, and have their own kid's. And, I still have a couple still alive.

I think a lot of us are raised with the see a snake kill a snake mentallity.  I know there are good snakes, king snakes particular.  My problem is with like a black snake or rat snake, I don't have the time or care to study at them long enough to tell them apart from a mocasion or a copperhead, so they die.  The only snakes i let live are the king snakes but I haven't seen one of them in years!

I didn't kill it. Brian did. I just grabbed it with some plyers and took it outside.

Plus I know some will find this shocking but Copperheads also have copper colored heads.  Shocked

Anytime anyone finds a snake they always want it to be venomous for some reason, I guess it adds some excitement to the event.  They always say things like this, "But look it has a triangular shaped head?  If yellow touches black it could kill Jack....no no wait if yellow touches black its a friend of Jack.....to hell with it just kill it."
