I like those picks!
They seem to go great, better, best. IMO The Meopta and Kahles are marginally better (optically) than the Conquest, but it is a lot more money for a little more performance. |

I really want the Kahles, but I want a #4 reticle and the place I've found that has the CLs only has plex. Thats been my big delimma, since I can get the #4 in the other two.

Great choices, if you really want a #4 go with the Meostar in those power ranges imo

A good choise for a hunting riflescope, with #4 reticle, is Swarovski Z5 serie.

I was really thinking under 700 bucs. Both the Meopta and Kahles are about 650. I think the Zeiss was 499 if I remember correctly.

Meopta is about your budget, they make a nice scope.
If the rifle ain't a hard kicker, consider the Meopta. |

Is Meopta known to have recoil issues? I never know what I might move a scope to down the road.

No recoil issues, Meopta has had "eye relief" issues. I had one about 3 years ago, while mounting, I measured the eye relief at 2.75 inches. As it was for a 7.5-pound 300WM, it went back and now wears a Diavari.
For the money, Meopta is great glass. |

+1 on the eye relief issue... backed out of a trade on a Meopta Artemis (i think) because it was too close for comfort; didn't need a new eyebrow.

I had mine on a 45-70 and got popped a couple times with it. Put it on a semi auto 7mm and it works okay on that gun. Supposedly they have corrected that and they are now listing them a 3.5 to 3.75. But who knows for sure. Mine is an Artemis 3000
My 45-70 did damage mine as well, zero started shifting all over the place and black paint specs got all over the glass. The replacement has worked well on my 7mm so far though. |

The Kahles will have the best glass but at this time repairs will have to be returned to Austria. The glass on the Zeiss is almost as good and service is easy to be had if ever needed. Factor in the price and you should be very satisfied with the Zeiss. Plus be able to buy more ammunition.
