I cant speak for the 4-14, but I have one in 2.8-10 and IMHO, The glass compares to the elite 3200 and the vari x 2. And I dare to say, it may even be a little clearer at the edges! I have no idea how it will hold up over time, but so far I have had no problems of any kind. I wouldnt hesitate to grab one and especially at that price!

I have seen similar quotes in several places. Is this scope one of the "old Aetec scopes", or is it a newer version of it? Thanks.

juslearnin, The Scopes that Chris is talking about on sale, as well as the one I mentioned in my original post are the new Master series Aetecs. They are Very nice scopes and I do not think you would be sorry if you purchased one ( or 3 at that price! ) I think jgm1981 was just commenting in general that the older Aetecs were some good optics as well.....which they certainly were! hope this helps, and sorry if we caused any confusion!

There are some comments on some other sites about this scope.
Question? Were these made in Japan? Phillipines? or where?

Yes the AETEC was a good scope, talking about the old not the new.The newer scopes won't last. The illuminated scope must have many problems truth be told.

I have an Aetec that is about 12 years old and the glass is nice and clear edge to edge,it is the 2.8-10. Other than the reticule being just a little to thick for target it just right for hunting.I have it on my 243 deer rifle and it has done the job in the past.
