Time to add another scope to my collection. I will be adding it to my 280 remington remington 50th anniversary rifle.
Here are the few I am considering.
Weaver Super Slam 2-10x42 $410
Weaver Super Slam 3-15x42 $520
Nikon Monarch 3-12x42 $420
Bushnell 4200 4-16x40 $500
Meopta MeoPro 4-12x50 $500 #4 plex
Minox ZA 3 3-9x40 $400
Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 $400
I have not had the chance to look through the Weaver, Meopta, or Minox.
Any thoughts?

The Conquest will have the best glass for your money, if you dont need more than 9x on the top end. Personally, i would rather have better glass than the 12x top power.

From all that has been said on this topic before I think you'll get a pretty uniform concensus that the conquest is the winner for this category.

All pretty comparable scopes in my view, I love the reticle in the conquest, the rain guard is great in the 4200, nothing wrong with the Monarch. I haven't had a chance to look through either of the minox or weaver offerings, but I'm sure they are decent, tuff call....

I have the conquest... You won't be disappointed with it. The glass is awesome, even with my bad eyes...
Iam considering building a .280, next year. How do you like yours? What do you use it for? What size bullets do you like in it? |

Isn't Meopta a sister company of Zeiss?
My vote is for either Conquest or Nikon.

Meopta is an independent company with not obvious ties to Zeiss other than doing some contract work for them. ILya
