I just got off the phone with Vortex. I asked them if I should buy a couple more of these scopes since they are among my favorite and if they are going to discontinue them, I want to stock up. He said " I would do that". That in conjunction with the fact that it is not a product line wide discount/rebate tells me these scopes are going bye, bye. Get em while you can folks.

You do realize that two of Vortex's own are members here don't you? They have been fantastic at answering questions quickly and honestly! They should at least be able to fill in the blanks for us! Scott are you out there lurking about? Edited by budperm - August/02/2010 at 18:19 |

Looks like they are going fast. I got an e-mail from SWFA that mine is backordered without an expected-by date.

Thanks for the tip on these. Just put in my order in for one with the BDC reticle. My confirmation email shows nothing about a backorder, so mine must be in stock and good to go

I was just thinking the same thing. If it cant be repaired, they would likely replace it with a current production model...3-9x40 would be my guess.

Have'nt had mine long enough to speak from experience but I would guess they would hold up just fine on an AR....

Dang, this is more tempting than the $99. Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50... Don't know what I'd put the 6-24 on, but dang!
Now this 2-7 Viper is saying it would be nice to switch out with the Millet DMS. Be a nice target scope. |

You can literally run any of the Vipers on 50bmg's. We have done it on numerous times including a lot of testing. These scopes were a great bargain at the regular price and now I believe they are hands down the best deal in the world as far as rifle scopes go(if they wern't already). I wouldnt wait to long though as they probably wont last long.

So would you say the Viper 2-7 is better than a Nikon Monarch 2-7x32? Is the view about the same on both as far as the sight picture or image size. I dont like the small view through the Nikon.

I will let someone else get this one as my answer is probably pretty obvious, although it would be my honest opinion. Scott |
