Is the XS Ghost ring sight set (front & back) for the Marlin Guide Gun cast, barstock or MIM and are there better iron sight options for this gun?
Thanks,

These are probably the best,Sam,although NOT cheap:
Brockman's Generation 3 Winged Sights are found on the best custom-built Scout and Guide guns. They are CNC machined from steel bar stock and feature compact and practical protective "wings". Ghost Ring Rear Sight features screw adjustable windage and elevation correction. A removable aperture insert maximizes sight definition under difficult light conditions and accepts after-market aperture inserts (7/32" x 40 shank thread) from Williams. Front Sight sports a unique screw-lock elevation adjustable sight post to ensure zeroing with a wide range of bullet weights. Designed as a drop-in for the Marlin 336, 444, 1894, 1895 family of lever actions but are easily adapted to many other rifles and shotguns. Mounting screws included. Matte. I had them on a Guide Gun. Nice setup. Can't speak to durability as I didn't pound them hard but never any problems for the year or so I ran them. I had a fiber optic front post and ghost ring rear.
A far, FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR better setup than buckhorns IMHO. :) It's easy to shoot high with buckhorns under stress. Ask me how I know this.

Did you ever get this setup? I am thinking of something similar (same brand) for a 1894 in .44 Maggie...
